After 35 years of dedicated service, our friends and longtime partners at the Philadelphia AIDS Fund have announced their decision to conclude operations effective December 31, 2024. This marks the end of an extraordinary chapter in the fight against HIV in Philadelphia—a chapter defined by resilience, compassion, and community-driven progress.
Founded at the height of the AIDS epidemic, AIDS Fund has been a steadfast force in addressing the challenges of HIV. Their work has been instrumental in raising awareness, supporting individuals and families, and funding critical services during a time of crisis. Thanks to their tireless efforts, coupled with advancements in HIV care and prevention, the landscape has transformed dramatically.
Honoring a Legacy of Hope and Impact
AIDS Fund’s unwavering focus on the HIV epidemic has made an indelible impact on the lives of countless individuals. Over the years, they have been driven by the hope that one day their work would be complete—a goal that felt out of reach at the start of their journey. Today, with improved access to prevention tools like PrEP and life-saving antiretroviral therapies, and with communities united in a shared commitment to ending the epidemic that hope feels closer than ever.
While AIDS Fund is concluding its operations, their legacy will live on through the lives they’ve touched and the work they’ve inspired. As they step back, their confidence in the progress of HIV care and prevention underscores the enduring power of collective action.
Continuing the Spirit of GayBINGO
